Journoist Terms of Service
Draft for review — not legally approved. Confirm this document matches actual product behavior and obtain qualified legal review before publication.
These Terms govern access to Journoist, including its website, mobile application, Drops, campaigns, petitions and related features. They are a draft and must be reviewed before publication.
1. Acceptance and operator
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The operator is identified for this draft as Anzer Ayoob; confirm the correct legal contracting party and contact details before launch.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must meet the minimum age and legal eligibility requirements applicable in your location. The proposed minimum age is 13, subject to legal review and stricter local requirements. Provide accurate information, protect account access, and promptly report suspected compromise.
3. Service description
Journoist may provide user profiles, short-form posts called Drops, comments, reposts, civic campaigns, petition signatures, verification indicators and research tools. Features may change; material changes should be communicated where required by law.
4. User content and licence
You retain rights you hold in content you submit. You grant Journoist a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, display and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure and promote the Service. The final licence should be reviewed for duration, deletion and promotional use.
5. Prohibited conduct
Do not violate law, infringe rights, impersonate others, harass or threaten people, publish knowingly false harmful allegations, expose private information without a lawful basis, manipulate petitions or engagement, upload malware, or interfere with Service security.
6. Moderation
Journoist may review reports, restrict visibility, label, remove content, suspend accounts or refer matters where appropriate. Moderation may involve human review and automated tools. Users should be given a practical reporting route and, where feasible, an appeal process.
7. Third-party services
Sign-in, hosting, analytics or linked websites may be provided by third parties under their own terms. Their availability and data handling should be described accurately in the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers
User-submitted content, petitions, evidence links and verification indicators are not legal advice and are not automatically endorsed by Journoist. The Service is provided subject to rights and warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Suspension and termination
Users may stop using the Service and request account deletion through the published process. Journoist may restrict accounts for policy violations, security risks or legal obligations. Explain notice and appeal exceptions in the final policy.
10. Law and contact
The draft proposes Indian law and competent courts in Jammu and Kashmir, subject to legal review and mandatory consumer protections. Contact: contact@journoist.com. Confirm this mailbox is monitored before publication.
